We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Works Manager to join our team at the City of Cut Bank. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, direction, and coordination of our public works program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Public Works Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our community.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans for the operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater utilities, solid waste collection and disposal, streets, parks, and city facilities.
  • Supervise and direct the work of department staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects and tasks.
  • Collaborate with other city departments and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with city policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of department staff, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve department operations and services.
Requirements
  • Graduation from High School, preferably with some college and/or advanced courses of study in engineering, management, or a related field.
  • At least six years of progressively responsible public works experience, including management of materials, personnel, budgets, and purchasing.
  • Survey and engineering experience is desirable.
  • Must possess a valid Montana Operators License.
  • Must be able to obtain Class II Water Distribution, Class I Water Treatment, and Class I Wastewater Treatment Certification within two years of hire date.
