Vice President of Credit Portfolio Management

Position Overview:
As the Vice President of Credit Portfolio Management, you will take charge of comprehensive credit risk oversight for key client accounts. Your role will involve delivering insightful Credit Risk analysis and reporting, with a primary focus on identifying and mitigating consumer credit risks throughout the cardholder journey by leveraging data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with retail partners to effectively manage and reduce risk for both Synchrony Financial and the retail clients while fostering portfolio growth.
- Engage cross-functionally to promote sustainable growth and enhance client satisfaction, ensuring the safety and soundness of the portfolio.
- Develop and deliver presentations for clients and leadership teams to support informed decision-making.
- Lead initiatives to refine strategies, utilizing champion/challenger methodologies to oversee credit and fraud risk.
- Provide analytical support for promotional pricing and deal structuring.
- Coordinate resources across multiple sites to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of monthly management information systems (MIS) and reporting.
- Align planning cycles with client teams to maintain consistency in business objectives.
- Offer clear guidance on risk appetite and prudent growth strategies to the organization.
- Maintain a credible challenge to critical business decisions and processes.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and special projects as required.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years in consumer or commercial Credit/Risk, Finance, or Analytics; or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in analyzing extensive data sets to extract strategic credit insights, including proficiency in SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
- Proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise presentations for senior management and clients.
- Strong analytical capabilities, comfortable in a data-driven environment.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams.
- Advanced technical and analytical skills to drive strategic objectives.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Familiarity with consumer lending products and practices.
- Advanced proficiency in SAS/SQL or similar analytical tools.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Willingness to undergo a drug test and background check as part of the onboarding process.
- Must meet the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- New hires must complete a specified duration of service before applying for other roles within the company.
