Student Social Media Coordinator

The School of Engineering Education at Purdue University seeks a student to support the development of social media content that sparks conversation, connection, and collaboration among the ENE community. Reporting to the ENE Director of Communications, this position provides an opportunity for the student to build a portfolio of work as they promote the School of Engineering Education.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging social media content, combining posts with photos or videos, and adding Purdue-branded logos. They will also be responsible for tagging individuals, sending posts for final review, and scheduling posts using a social media management platform. The majority of content will be harvested from information provided by staff, and examples of post topics include engineering design competition winners, internal and external faculty and student awards, academic and research milestones, student, faculty, and alumni profiles, and undergraduate and graduate student-generated content. Training will be provided.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written communication skills, experience with photo editing software, and the ability to work 10-20 hours per week. They will also be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable with feedback and iteration. Preferred qualifications include an undergraduate major in Communications, Professional Writing, or English, proficiency with brand enablement software, and experience with social media management platforms.
