READI Grant Coordinator and Recruiter

This part-time position is grant funded for 3 years and is year-round. The successful candidate will work with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the Dean and Department Chair in Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science, and our Purdue counterparts to develop, coordinate, organize, market, and deliver a two-week immersive high school summer program covering all counties in the READI region.
Key Responsibilities:
The position will involve working with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the Dean and Department Chair in Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science, and our Purdue counterparts to develop, coordinate, organize, market, and deliver a two-week immersive high school summer program covering all counties in the READI region.
Additional Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will also be responsible for recruiting students for the summer program, which will take place on both institutions' campuses, exposing students to the semiconductor industry and higher education.
Grant-Related Responsibilities:
The position will also involve specific grant-related responsibilities and duties, particularly related to outreach and education with high school students about Ivy Tech's programs that support the semiconductor and microelectronics industry.
Collaboration and Communication:
The successful candidate will work closely with the grant Program Manager (Purdue position) on any grant-related work that needs to be completed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree and background or education in manufacturing or a STEM-related major. They will also have experience working with high school students, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work as a team member and under stress.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM-related field is preferred, as is interest or experience in electronics or semiconductors.
Other Requirements:
The selected candidate will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including a criminal history check, registry check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome.
Working Hours:
The position requires primarily daytime hours, with some evening or weekend hours possible.
