Job Summary

The Production Technician will play a key role in supporting manufacturing activities and team members while adhering to policies and procedures related to successful manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and lead team in 5S initiatives
  • Relieve Team Lead as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required by the schedule
  • Troubleshoot sort stops and perform required quality checks
  • Operate and maintain various equipment at an acceptable level with emphasis on quality, IATF 16949 standard, safety/environmental, 5S and productivity
  • Operate and maintain automated and semi-automated equipment in a high-volume production environment
  • Able to communicate and perform in a fast-paced, team environment with a positive outlook in communication and conduct with others
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Flexible to work in any area of operation/shift as needed
  • Travel as needed
  • May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to properly use various gauging equipment (i.e., calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, etc.)
  • Prior machining experience
  • Knowledge of equipment condition check sheets and required documentation
  • Able to perform preventive maintenance as required by the P.M. schedule
  • Able to perform required quality checks and to troubleshoot sort stops
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills - gather, organize, and analyze information to resolve a problem/situation and make sound decisions consistent with JTEKT philosophy
  • Able to cross-train on all lines
  • Demonstrate and support the JTKET philosophy and policies
  • Willingness to learn, master new tasks, policies, and procedure in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without the need for constant direction/supervision
  • Knowledge of and application of JTEKT standards for quality, IATF 16949, standard work, safety, environmental, IS14001, and ergonomic
  • Proven ability to contribute toward the success of the team and the company
  • Proficient English communication skills
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required
  • Ability to work overtime and any shift as needed
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Work shift as assigned and overtime is required, as needed
  • Will be required to do the following throughout the shift: standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulders, moving left to right repetitively, grasping, and fine finger dexterity
  • May be required to lift during shift up to 40 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields
