Your Opportunity as a Production Technician

The J. M. Smucker Company is seeking a skilled Production Technician to join our team in our Pet Food Plant. As a key member of our manufacturing operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe and effective operations in support of the manufacturing of products such as Meow Mix
  • Collect and analyze data to help in delivering a consistent performance aligned with our expectations for the highest quality and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Flow to the work to assist teammates, as needed while promoting our Company culture as defined by our Basic Beliefs and Our Commitment to Each Other
Requirements:
  • Manufacturing experience (preference for pet food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods)
  • A proven track record of good attendance and consistent performance delivering consistent safety and quality
  • Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions with diverse employees
  • Must be willing to be on shift (12-hour 2-2-3 shift rotation, fixed days or nights)
  • Safely operate powered industrial equipment and follow all company Safety Rules & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
  • Able to operate, perform basic physical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms, and various equipment
  • Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions
  • Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents
  • Mechanical interest and operational skills
  • Able to learn new systems, record operational data and communicate results
  • Track quality and waste metrics
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
