**Key Responsibilities**

As a Department Head, you will be a key resource for all departments, a model for customer service, a driver for sales, and a skilled problem solver. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting all store operations and departments in partnership with the management team.
  • Providing direct oversight of one or more departments in the store or for specified operational functions.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of all departments in the store to provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.
  • Utilizing analytical skills and knowledge of the campus to best manage day-to-day operations and make informed decisions.
  • Assisting with assigning work and providing focused direction to team members to manage and accomplish multiple projects.
  • Maintaining a presence on the sales floor to greet customers, answer questions, and assist with purchases.
  • Maintaining an appealing sales floor, including tagging, shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing product or space within the store.
  • Assisting with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in a retail setting as a manager or buyer, or a graduate of the Best Seller Program.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.
  • Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
