Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Services Technician EMT to join our team at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center. As a key member of our Emergency Room department, you will provide emergent/urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, physician's assistant, and/or registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Procedures: Perform delegated tasks, including establishing IV access, collecting specimens, providing wound care, and transporting patients. May perform ECGs and vital statistics/telemetry monitoring.
  • Assistance with Medical Procedures: Assist physicians and nurses with performing medical procedures, including examinations, minor surgical interventions, orthopedic treatment, and resuscitation.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to medical/nursing staff.
  • Patient Flow and Environment: Assist with patient flow and maintain patient rooms clean, stocked, and orderly.
  • Critical Thinking and Decision Making: Utilize critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Certifications: Current State Licensure as an EMT with IV certification, or EMT-I
  • CPR Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
