Job Overview

Salary: Up to $130,000

Position Summary:

The Production Operations Leader will oversee the manufacturing processes at our facility, ensuring the efficient utilization of resources, materials, and personnel to deliver high-quality products while meeting customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field with relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in resin and gel coat production.
  • Proven experience in supervising production teams.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, such as ISO 9000.
  • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the plant manager in ensuring operational excellence, prioritizing employee safety, cleanliness, and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with the plant manager and scheduler to manage raw material inventories for efficient production.
  • Oversee shift supervisors to meet production targets effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control department to maintain product quality during manufacturing, packaging, and labeling.
  • Facilitate timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
  • Foster a positive and motivating environment for all team members, acting as a mentor and leader.
  • Set performance benchmarks and hold production staff accountable, applying the company’s Progressive Disciplinary Policy as necessary.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential job requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to sit for extended periods while working with office equipment.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility, including navigating stairs.
  • Proficient in using computers, telephones, and office equipment such as printers and scanners.
  • Regular lifting of up to 10 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or support at other locations.
