Position Summary:
The Production Operations Leader will oversee the manufacturing processes at our facility, ensuring the efficient utilization of resources, materials, and personnel to deliver high-quality products while meeting customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field with relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in resin and gel coat production.
- Proven experience in supervising production teams.
- Familiarity with quality management systems, such as ISO 9000.
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the plant manager in ensuring operational excellence, prioritizing employee safety, cleanliness, and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with the plant manager and scheduler to manage raw material inventories for efficient production.
- Oversee shift supervisors to meet production targets effectively.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Work closely with the Quality Control department to maintain product quality during manufacturing, packaging, and labeling.
- Facilitate timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
- Foster a positive and motivating environment for all team members, acting as a mentor and leader.
- Set performance benchmarks and hold production staff accountable, applying the company’s Progressive Disciplinary Policy as necessary.
- Attendance and punctuality are essential job requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to sit for extended periods while working with office equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility, including navigating stairs.
- Proficient in using computers, telephones, and office equipment such as printers and scanners.
- Regular lifting of up to 10 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings or support at other locations.
