Dietary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) to join our team at the University of Miami's Sylvester Cancer Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide clinical assistance to our Registered Dietitian and play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional needs of our patients are met.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct patient screenings to identify those at risk for malnutrition or requiring nutrition interventions.
- Triage patients and determine the appropriate level of nutrition intervention needed.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients to see the Registered Dietitian.
- Communicate with patients and their families regarding nutrition-related questions and concerns.
- Conduct initial assessments of patients' nutritional status and provide basic nutrition education and guidance.
- Collaborate with dietitians and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive optimal care and support.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in medical records.
- Associate degree or higher in dietetics or a related field.
- Board Certification and State Licensure as a Diet Technician, Registered (DTR).
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, particularly in the oncology setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
