Production Supervisor Opportunity

T. Marzetti Company, a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty food products, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee production and sanitation activities on a designated shift.


About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient work environment that meets quality, quantity, and timely production goals. This includes coordinating shift activities, planning, and communicating with employees to achieve sanitation objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and control plans and budgets for the sanitation area.
  • Implement a master sanitation schedule/program for processing and packaging equipment and storage vessels, maintaining records of cleaning processes.
  • Partner with production to ensure upkeep of the master sanitation schedule.
  • Monitor CIP equipment operation and oversee storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Control and minimize overtime labor and maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
  • Provide training, direction, development, evaluation, coaching, and leadership to subordinates.
  • Maintain good employee, corporate, and community relations.
  • Coordinate with department managers and shift supervisors to ensure a trouble-free shift start-up/shut-down.
  • Maintain company standards for cleanliness, housekeeping, and safety in the plant area.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP support programs.
  • Serve as a Qualified Individual in the plant's Food Safety Plan, monitoring and verifying process control and preventive control measures.

Requirements
  • 2-3 years of production/group leader experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food-related industry with sanitation and production experience.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling and production processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Working Conditions

The Production Supervisor will work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, and risk of electrical shock. Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beardnets (if facial hair exists), and steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes are required.
