The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join their team. As a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist, you will be responsible for providing clinical services, including inpatient consultative services and general outpatient infectious disease clinics.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to pursue research opportunities, including population health, clinical trials, or outcomes-based research. Depending on your interests, you may also have the chance to expand the transplant infectious diseases program or grow antimicrobial stewardship into the outpatient space.

The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases is a dynamic and growing team with nine faculty members and three fellows. The hospital microbiology lab director and full-time antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist are also active members of the division. Our antimicrobial stewardship program monitors the use of all broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents, and our division actively participates in quality and infection control initiatives.

Current research areas include the role of immune activation and inflammation in HIV-infected adults and children, the prevention and treatment of metabolic and cardiovascular complications of HIV, and the role of naturally acquired immunity in malaria in children. We are also actively growing our divisions participation in domestic clinical research.

As a faculty member, you will have the opportunity to professionally advance your career into leadership roles related to education of fellows, residents, and medical students. Both the hospital and affiliated Case Western Reserve University offer leadership training for those wishing to pursue larger administrative roles in their professional advancement.

Rainbow Babies and Childrens Hospital is a tertiary care center located in Cleveland, Ohio, and affiliated with Case Western Reserve University. University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Childrens Hospital is consistently ranked in U.S. News & World Reports Best Childrens Hospitals annual rankings.

An MD or MD/PhD degree, completion of fellowship training in Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and board eligibility or certification are required. Faculty rank is expected to be at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level, commensurate with experience.
