REPORTS TO:
Cleaning Foreman

Essential Job Requirements:
Proficient in identifying issues with vacuum equipment.

Must demonstrate the ability to effectively 'blow down' tanks; must efficiently utilize a 3-inch vacuum hose and connect vacuum lines correctly.

Frequently required to navigate staging in low visibility, dusty environments.

Must safely operate a 100-PSI air line to prevent injury to oneself and others.

All tasks must be performed while wearing appropriate dust masks and/or respirators to ensure safety.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary for the safe and timely completion of work.


Required Education:
None

Required Experience:
Minimum of one year of relevant experience required.

Required Skills:
Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow employees and shipyard staff. Must be receptive to guidance from supervisors or more experienced personnel.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to walk; frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, or crawl in various heights and confined spaces; occasionally required to sit; must reach with hands and arms, and use hands for feeling, gripping, or handling.

Must be capable of safely lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Stamina is essential due to extended hours. Must be able to wear dust masks and/or respirators. Vision in dim, dusty, low-light conditions is necessary. Physical agility is required. May need to wear a respirator to safely execute assigned tasks.

Mental Requirements:
Must be able to follow simple instructions.

Reasonable Accommodations may be provided to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

Equipment Used:
Vacuums, vacuum bottles, compressors/compressed air.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
None

Working Conditions:
Repetitive, physically demanding tasks. Involves lifting and carrying heavy objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling in challenging positions and confined spaces. Exposure to various weather conditions, sometimes at significant heights. Interior environments may be hot and dusty. Exposure to loud noises, hazardous materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, and dangerous machinery. To prevent injury, safety clothing and devices to protect eyes, mouth, or hearing are required. Overtime or shift work is often necessary.
