The City of Lincoln City is excited to announce a vacancy within the Parks and Recreation Department for a part-time Fitness Program Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating various group fitness sessions and workshops tailored for a diverse adult audience.

Your expertise in fitness will be utilized to instruct classes such as Strength Training, Yoga, Pilates, Dance Fitness, and more. You will also have the opportunity to propose new fitness initiatives and enhancements to existing programs. It is essential to maintain a safe environment and ensure appropriate conduct among facility users and participants. Previous certifications and experience in fitness instruction are highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or equivalent, complemented by relevant experience in coaching or officiating youth sports such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track & field, demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to remain composed and confident while interacting with players, coaches, and the public. The candidate should exhibit leadership qualities and serve as a positive role model for youth. Access to reliable transportation for travel to practice and game locations is required. Attendance at all mandatory training sessions and meetings is expected, even if they occur outside of regular working hours. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is also necessary.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

CERTIFICATIONS:
Current CPR/First Aid certification, Mandatory Reporter/Child Abuse Reporting certification, and Concussion certification are required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of secondary education courses in sports or physical fitness-related subjects, ideally with direct service experience to elementary and middle school youth.
