MDFT Family Therapist
Location: Waterbury, CT
Employment Type: Full-Time, 35 hours per week


POSITION SUMMARY:
The MDFT Family Therapist is responsible for delivering intensive therapeutic services to families. This role includes crisis intervention, parental guidance, advocacy, and connecting families with community resources. The therapist will assess the strengths and challenges faced by adolescents and their families, focusing on fostering positive behavioral changes within the youth's everyday environment. The therapist will engage with families in their homes multiple times a week, conducting clinical sessions with both the youth and their family members. Additionally, the therapist will complete necessary documentation, including assessments and progress notes.
  • Establish face-to-face contact with each family promptly upon referral assignment
  • Deliver tailored MDFT treatment that is goal-oriented and individualized
  • Collaborate with families to build a sustainable social support network
  • Participate in all required training and maintain MDFT certification
  • Provide weekly written updates to the referral source
  • Work alongside the MDFT Therapist Assistant/Case Coordinator to enhance community support
  • Complete all mandated MDFT documentation
  • Engage in training, consultation, and evaluation as specified in MDFT guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Possession of a provisional license (LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A)
  • Expertise in therapeutic interventions, advocacy, and crisis management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong personal effectiveness and credibility
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Collaboration and teamwork abilities

COMPENSATION:
  • Annual Salary: $54,590

WORK SCHEDULE:
  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Total of 35 hours per week

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master's Degree (Required)

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
  • English (Required)
  • Spanish (Preferred)

CERTIFICATION:
  • Required Licenses: LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, LCSW, LPC, LMFT
