Job Summary

We are seeking a fully licensed mental health therapist to join our team at Stokes Counseling Services. As a Therapist, you will work under the direction of a senior member of our Clinical Team to provide standardized counseling/talk therapy for clients with mild to moderate mental health conditions and/or substance abuse issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the mental and behavioral health status of referred clients and conduct standardized counseling/talk therapy sessions
  • Perform intake/biopsychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' mental and behavioral health status
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop short-term and long-term treatment plans tailored to individual clients' needs
  • Provide timely and professional counseling services to scheduled clients, utilizing professional counseling industry standards
  • Identify and refer clients with urgent mental health conditions to appropriate emergency or psychiatric treatment facilities
  • Maintain accurate and consistent documentation of clinical and counseling services, including billing information
Requirements
  • Fully licensed mental health therapist in the State of Connecticut (LCSW, LMFT, or LPC)
  • One to three years experience conducting counseling/talk therapy sessions with diverse client populations
  • Advanced proficiency in conducting intake assessments and formulating treatment plans
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to maintain documentation within the appropriate time frames
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards in clinical practice
