Position Overview:
The Construction Schedule Management Specialist will be tasked with the creation and maintenance of detailed project timelines, which will include phases such as design, procurement, construction, project close-out, equipment installation, and commissioning activities. This position necessitates a robust understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, along with the capability to develop and assess critical path logic networks and bar charts. The Specialist will collaborate with project teams to tailor project control systems, track construction progress, and generate reports on schedule adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and sustain comprehensive project timelines, integrating various project phases and activities.
- Monitor and document construction progress, identifying and assisting in the resolution of construction challenges and conflicts.
- Review and communicate the status of the schedule to the Project Manager and clients, ensuring alignment with contract specifications.
- Conduct cost and resource-loaded scheduling, gather and validate data, and incorporate it into the project timeline.
- Prepare clear and concise scheduling/update analysis reports on a regular basis.
- Support corporate initiatives by compiling historical performance data for future project planning and forecasting.
- Engage and participate in meetings with project teams, including owners, general contractors, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Adapt swiftly to new environments and effectively address team needs and requirements.
- Utilize scheduling software such as Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Effectively apply Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for proficient project control.
- Exhibit strong time-management and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction scheduling.
- Proficiency in utilizing Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Expertise in resource loading schedules.
- Strong time-management and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
- A background in cost control is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
