Job Title: Strategic Account Manager - Home Depot Pro
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Account Manager to join our team at James Hardie. As a Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving the James Hardie exteriors and interiors business through the customer's professional channel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the THD Sales Team to shape, manage, and drive our Interiors and Exteriors strategy in the customer's professional channel in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build strategic relationships and maintain communication frequencies with Home Depot Pro Merchandising team and Field Leadership for both inside and outside Pro sales.
- Manage assortments across Pro channels including FDC & Special Order in conjunction with internal and external cross-functional teams.
- Develop strong working relationship and maintain communication frequencies with Regional Retail Strategic Managers and Distribution partners.
- Develop and implement long-range omnichannel growth plan that is integrated and coordinated with Home Depot's longer-range Pro objectives for our categories.
- Own the planning, scheduling and successful execution of all THD Pro events throughout the year.
- Leverage and lead others in using forward looking category and shopper insights to develop strategies that will drive predictable and sustainable growth in the Pro segment at Home Depot.
- Understand key business metrics for both James Hardie and The Home Depot Pro to be able to deliver mutually beneficial tactical adjustments to deliver on joint business plan targets.
- Develop and utilize dashboards to track progress against key metrics & execute at the highest level within the retail organization.
- Leverage data and relationships to identify both short- and long-range risks and opportunities.
- Work with Retail Trainer to develop and deploy efforts to build sales team skills in JH fundamentals, value prop, offering, how to sell/convert/drive-step-up, and provide business insights and feedback on trends.
- Strong peer to peer leadership with James Hardie finance, marketing, product management, supply chain, and HR to drive full cross functional execution and delivery against our strategy and tactical initiatives to deliver it.
- Develop and implement specific business initiatives that allow for the effective and efficient execution of James Hardie's broader organizational strategies both individually and through dedicated Pro team at The Home Depot: Inside and Outside Pro Sales Representatives by Region plus Pro Merchandising.
- Evaluating our existing product plan and identifying initiatives that will drive incremental sales through all relevant channels including Stores, Flatbed Delivery Centers, Special Order and Multi-Family/Direct.
- Ensuring the James Hardie value proposition in both departments is understood within The Home Depot Pro channel by shaping our strategy/message via communication to key leaders and decision makers.
- Implementing Strategic Planning, joint revenue-generation solutions, and sales support programs to support Pro Segment growth in The Home Depot.
- Ensure that JH management is engaged and has a strategic relationship with key leaders within The Home Depot Pro
- Provide strategic insights on changing/emerging trends within retail that have an impact on the larger JH business.
- Leads category management expertise to Pro channel at The Home Depot as it relates to why JH, product assortments, merchandising, marketing, and business trends in the James Hardie Product Portfolio.
- Communicates with all levels of the JH organization, business partners, and customers to research marketplace trends and initiate marketing plans into Pro channel.
- Facilitating regular communication within the JH organization to ensure that JH leadership is informed on current THD Pro initiatives and providing a platform to address any ideas.
- Learning, understanding, and communicating customer positions and industry trends to determine how they would impact our products and strategies.
- Working with internal partners to clearly define customer projects and ensuring that projects have a strong business case and defined customer benefit.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline required.
- 3+ years' experience in account responsibility preferred.
- 1+ year experience in Pro sales, especially in the retail segment preferred.
- Home Depot sales experience highly preferred.
- Motivated self-starter with strong leadership, problem-solving, and strong organizational skills.
- Aptitude to analyze results and make recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization and/or strong cross-functional experience - seeking a strong team player and experience working in a team environment.
- In-depth understanding of critical KPI's in retail-sales platforms, Big Box Retail, the participants, and the go to market strategy.
- Retail experience with premium brands, Pro-centric brands would be a plus.
- Leadership skills to guide team and broader organization towards common goals.
- Demonstrated ability in complex customer negotiations.
- Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
- Demonstrated history of product commercialization, presentation skills with big box/retail/Pro customers.
- Ability to offer advanced solutions based on collected, summarized, and analyzed data for Home Depot Pro teams, JH product knowledge a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to apply creativity and latitude in identifying new projects, trends, and processes.
- Proven track record directing external resources to manage and execute effectively.
- Results-oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion.
- Ability to travel an average of 50-60%.
