Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee departmental budget planning for engineering development and ongoing functions.
  • Monitor and manage expenditures to align with budgetary guidelines.
  • Advise on budgetary allocations for research and development in Engineering and Design.
  • Maintain and update our information database/web interface with design, installation, and service protocols.
  • Drive product research, development, and innovation to meet customer demands and integrate new technologies.
  • Collaborate with Sales Departments on new product designs and support sales-driven requests.
  • Assess new equipment models regarding production techniques and strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize costs, weight, and production timelines.
  • Serve as a liaison between Engineering and other business units.
  • Provide technical guidance and insights to Management, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
  • Support Service and customers in post-sale vehicle operations and maintenance.
  • Recommend technological enhancements for daily operations at LDV.
  • Ensure overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Electrical Engineering Department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to navigate various abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficiency in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
  • Familiarity with Design software, Internet software, Manufacturing software, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. Experience with logic programming is preferred.
  • Experience with vehicles and electronics/communications equipment is advantageous.
  • Strong presentation skills for conveying information to top management and public groups.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
