The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and investigating infectious disease processes, implementing surveillance systems, and developing strategies to prevent and control the transmission of infectious agents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveillance and epidemiologic investigations to identify infectious disease processes
  • Implement and maintain electronic surveillance systems, such as Sentri 7
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent and control the transmission of infectious agents
  • Apply and use surveillance data and reports to inform infection prevention and control decisions
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programs and develop mission statements and goals for the infection prevention and control program
  • Develop and implement annual Infection Prevention Plans
  • Conduct cost-benefit assessments, efficacy studies, and evaluations of products
  • Recommend changes based on recent evidence-based practices
  • Provide infection prevention and control findings, recommendations, and reports to stakeholders
  • Prepare and present educational content to various audiences
  • Collaborate with others to select and evaluate environmental disinfectant products
Qualifications
  • Minimum: High School Graduate
  • Minimum: Registered Nurse
  • Preferred: Bachelors Degree or CIC certification
  • Required: Active member in the Association for Professionals in Infection Control
  • Minimum: 2 years' experience working in the medical field, licensed/registered or certified
  • Preferred: Previous Acute Care Experience or working in Infection Control Previously
  • Licenses/Certificates: Current BLS, Current RN License, Certification in Infection Control
