Electrical Maintenance Specialist

At Duke Energy, we're looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll be responsible for performing journeyman-level duties in the installation, repair, and maintenance of facility electrical support equipment, systems, and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing corrective and preventive maintenance tasks, including interpreting design drawings and O&M Manuals to locate and diagnose trouble in electrical equipment, components, and systems.
  • Replacing worn, damaged, or failed equipment and components to support facility operations.
  • Demonstrating and conducting inspections/post-maintenance testing of systems, equipment, and components to ensure they're returned to operational conditions.
  • Maintaining accountability of property, including tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Performing preventive maintenance tasks, following pre-determined checklists.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a journeyman electrical position, with one year in a power plant or related industry.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of electrical theory and application.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Formal electrical training, such as vocational-technical school, trade school, military, or apprenticeship.

Working Conditions:

  • Onsite mobility classification: work will be performed at a company facility.
  • Travel requirements: 5-15%.
