Key Responsibilities

The Telemetry Nurse is responsible for delivering direct nursing care in alignment with the established protocols of Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. In collaboration with patients, their families, and the healthcare team, the nurse will:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for telemetry patients.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in patients' conditions, ensuring timely interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments, observing their effects closely.
  • Participate in staff training and development initiatives.
  • Adhere to nursing policies and quality improvement measures.
  • Educate patients and families based on their unique needs.
  • Perform additional duties as required within the scope of nursing practice.

Qualifications

Licensure and Certification:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or Compact.
  • BCLS and ACLS certifications.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Experience:

  • Background in critical care preferred.
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia recognition and EKG interpretation.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in a medical nursing unit is advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
