Estimated Salary: $105,000 - $115,000 per year

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to assist our Medical Director in providing substance abuse services. The successful candidate will ensure all clinical programs are safe and appropriate to the client's specific issues and medical history. They will direct and coordinate medical services and care in coordination with the Medical Director and other areas of the organization while making reasonable accommodations to ensure clients are safe and comfortable as possible during their stay.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate team interaction for discharge planning.
  • Collect and record data in a comprehensive, accurate, and systematic manner.
  • Indicate and complete a history and physical within 72 hours of admission.
  • Evaluate the impact of therapeutic interventions upon a therapeutic milieu.
  • Know and understand the company's policies and procedures.
  • Share pertinent information with the team as obtained from patients or other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the medical staff to ensure appropriate care is being provided.
  • Document on the appropriate form, in a legible, accurate, clear, and concise manner.
  • Document client progress/regress according to established policies and procedures.
  • Report communicable diseases in a timely fashion to the Public Health Department.
  • Perform all activities in a safe, professional manner.
  • Maintain compliance with established standards, according to profession.
  • Supervise and instruct patients in medication self-administration (if applicable), including the preparation and giving of injections ordered by the doctor.
  • Order laboratory tests as necessary for quality of care.
  • Ensure clients' medications are obtained from the pharmacy.
  • Provide health and medication education to clients.
  • Continues with educational courses and in-service trainings, per policies and procedures.
  • Update knowledge of community resources on a continuous basis.
  • Assess all clients and document accordingly.
  • Maintain current CPR certification and other necessary certifications, including maintaining of license.
  • Demonstrate objectivity and maturity under stress.
  • Respond positively to changing situations in the workplace.
  • Able to work as a team player.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Perform in a professional manner and role-model a positive image of mental health.
  • Review cases with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing.
  • Report abuse of patients' rights immediately.
  • Participate in obtaining the patients' informed consent for procedures, treatments as appropriate.
  • Know and understand Backer Act and medical procedures, which includes calling the emergency release if there is an emergency at the facility.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medication actions, side effects, and contraindications.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
