About the Role

Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a critical care specialist, you will provide advanced assessment, treatment, and monitoring of hospital patients with cardiopulmonary compromise.

Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, critical care, and preventative services to patients in the Emergency Department, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Critical Care.
  • Function as the shift Charge Therapist and serve as a technical and educational resource for patients, family members, Respiratory staff, Respiratory students, and other members of the patient care team.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy, Associate's degree, and a minimum of one year of experience in a respiratory therapy critical care environment.
  • Demonstrated Critical Care, ED, Bronchoscopy, and Difficult Airway competencies, in addition to routine hospital respiratory floor competencies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years critical care respiratory therapy experience at Mayo Clinic or another healthcare facility with similar patient acuity and complexity.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt well and calmly to unpredictable situations within all hospital care settings.
  • Evidence of effective interpersonal skills, advanced patient assessment skills, and advanced computer skills.
License/Certifications
  • Current Arizona Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
  • Credentialed through the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Basic Life Support Certification required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
Compensation and Benefits

$45.19 per hour, benefits eligible, full-time position with a 72-hour schedule, including every other weekend and three rotating holidays per year.
