As an Endoscopy Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing direct and indirect services to our GI patients, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the GI room, and delivering quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports and Assists Physicians and Registered Nurses: Collaborate with our medical team to ensure seamless execution of endoscopic procedures, providing assistance as needed to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Verifies Equipment Functioning and Performs Safety Checks: Conduct thorough checks on equipment and supplies to ensure they are in good working condition, maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patients.
  • Maintains Endoscopic Equipment and Prepares Broken Scopes for Repair: Ensure that all endoscopic equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and stored, and that broken scopes are prepared for repair in accordance with ANSI/AAMI standards.
  • Collects and Delivers Specimens and Prepares Rooms and Equipment: Collect and deliver specimens collected during procedures, and prepare rooms and equipment for the next patient, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Assists with Therapeutic Interventions and Coordinates Supply Inventory: Assist with therapeutic interventions such as balloon dilations, polypectomy, and stent placement, and coordinate the review of special-order supply inventory to ensure rooms are stocked for next-day procedures.
  • Completes Annual Competencies and Maintains Patient Confidentiality: Independently complete annual competencies and any additional competencies related to new procedures, and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 Years of Experience: 0-1 years of experience preferred, with previous experience working in the Operating Room or Endoscopy Unit preferred.
  • BLS (American Heart Association) Required: Must have BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • SGNA Certification within 6 Months of Hire Required: Must obtain SGNA certification within 6 months of hire.
