Job Summary

Concentra is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Fresno area center. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, leading by example, and creating a positive work environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Patient Care: Spend 100% of your time in the center, providing direct patient care, leading by example, and creating an exceptional patient experience.
  • Lead Center Operations: Ensure day-to-day execution of medical model, collaborating with therapists and specialists to drive optimal clinical outcomes and case closure.
  • Monitor Clinical Metrics: Monitor key clinical center metrics, including Practice Indicators, COP, GRV, LOS, TAT, Specialist Referral Rate, Primary Care Case Duration, Days to First Recheck, % of cases with Lost Time, Limited Duty, and Full Duty.
  • Manage Clinicians and Staff: Manage clinicians and support staff, complying with APC supervisory requirements.
  • Create a Collaborative Environment: Create a professional and collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork, quality, exceptional outcomes, and patient safety.
  • Work with DMO: Work with the Director of Medical Operations to identify and implement changes to ensure continuous clinical improvement.
  • Masters Use of Clinical Systems: Master the use of clinical systems to ensure efficiency, excellent supportive documentation, appropriate and optimal coding levels, charge capture, and follow-through on all patient care orders.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with individual State Practice Act/Rules and Regulations/WC Regulations.
  • Drive Patient and Client Experience Metrics: Drive patient and client experience metrics.
  • Communicate with Employers: Communicate with employers on all new injuries and other significant clinical changes.
  • Participate in CLT Meetings: Actively participate in CLT meetings with COD and CTD to improve quality, patient safety, outlier management, and ensure the ongoing development and growth of the center's business.
  • Maintain Relationships: Maintain and cultivate relationships with center clients and payers, responding to requests within 24 hours.
  • Manage Clinical and Support Staffing: Work with DMO and CLT to manage clinical and support staffing levels and proficiencies that will optimize patient satisfaction, workflows, and efficiencies.
  • Promote Orange Book Values: Promote, cultivate, and exemplify Orange Book values for all center colleagues.
  • Develop Colleague Success: Develop colleague success through all aspects of the talent life cycle for staff clinicians and support staff within the center.
  • Foster a Collaborative Environment: Foster an environment of collaboration, professionalism, patient/colleague safety, quality care, continuous improvement, and reward and recognition.
  • Lead and Promote Collaboration: Lead and promote collaboration within CLT and across disciplines to achieve clinical and business outcomes.
  • Accountable for Center Financial Drivers: Accountable for understanding and input on Center financial drivers (GRV, PI, New Injuries, TAT) and outcomes in order to achieve annual business plan.
  • Promote Center Initiatives: Promote center initiatives and work flows that are consistent with those in other centers.
  • Possesses Financial Awareness: Possesses financial awareness and provides input to center budget and key business metrics.
Requirements
  • Education/Credentials: Graduate of an accredited medical program with a M.D. or D.O.
  • Board Certification: Must be board certified by ABPM, ABFM or medical board in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice.
  • Licensure: Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction.
  • ACLS Certification: ACLS Certified, preferred.
Job-Related Experience
  • Five to Eight Years of Experience: Five to eight years of experience in occupational medicine, urgent care or an emergency setting.

Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: This position is eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the range of $260,000 to $300,000 plus Medical Director stipend.
  • Medical Director Stipend: Salary depends on job-related factors as permitted by applicable law, such as level of experience, geographic location where the work is performed, and/or seniority.
