Position Overview:
Responsible for implementing care plans, which include administering medications, collecting specimens, and providing clinical treatments, along with other medical interventions. Accurately documents patient care activities. Monitors, records, and communicates patient status to the care team, physicians, patients, and families as necessary. Aids patients in daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility. Collaborates across disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial needs. Assesses the educational needs of patients and/or families and delivers appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional health of patients. Educational Requirements:Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Required Competencies:
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential. Must be capable of functioning in a high-pressure environment and taking appropriate actions. Certifications Needed:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire and maintain thereafter.
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire and maintain thereafter.
Handle With Care preferred within 90 days of hire. Licensure:
Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or from a Compact State.
