Job Summary

The City of Lenexa is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Street Maintenance Worker I to join our Municipal Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the city's infrastructure and facilities with integrity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain street surfaces, road bases, curbs, and gutters, as well as trails and sidewalks.
  • Perform asphalt maintenance and paving, including milling, removal, crack sealing, and patching.
  • Conduct concrete maintenance, including removal, patching, leveling, and replacement of sidewalks, pads, curbs, and gutters.
  • Operate various equipment, including trucks, snow removal equipment, rollers, skid steer loaders, backhoes, front-end loaders, concrete saws, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to assigned equipment.
  • Respond to snow and ice removal and other emergencies, including weekends, before and after hours, and holidays.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. or two years of experience in a construction-related field.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with air brake and tanker endorsements and Work Zone Safety Certification, including Flagger, or obtain within 180 days from hire date.
  • Complete required NIMS IS-100 and IS-700 training within three months of employment.
