The University of Oklahoma seeks a highly skilled Nuclear Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our Nuclear Pharmacy, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the facility, ensuring the safe handling and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals.
Key Responsibilities:- Radiation Safety: Act as the day-to-day radiation safety officer, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead Employee: Supervise and train assigned personnel in the safe handling of radioactive materials.
- Information Distribution: Provide information to physicians and staff on radiopharmaceutical availability, warnings, and incompatibilities.
- Radiopharmaceutical Distribution: Dispense radiopharmaceuticals pursuant to prescriptions, filling and dispensing prescriptions from bulk stock in sterile form if injectable.
- Transcription: Receive and transcribe radiopharmaceutical orders, determining appropriateness and calculating activity and volume needed for the dose.
- Assays: Measure, weigh, and compound radiopharmaceuticals through processes such as filtering, heating, titrating, or distilling.
- Radiopharmaceutical Procurement: Receive and procure radiopharmaceuticals, maintaining inventory and storing under proper conditions.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in the performance of quality assurance on radiopharmaceuticals, instruments, and equipment.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain records of prescriptions filled and all records pertaining to OSBP, DOT, NRC, OSHA, and FDA.
- Emergency Call: Participate in emergency calls after normal business hours on a rotating schedule.
