The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a vital member of the anesthesia care team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement anesthesia plans
- Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies for mitigation
- Manage anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and maintenance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program and a graduate of an AANA-accredited program for Nurse Anesthetist
- Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse; Registered Nurse license in the State of Wisconsin if assigned to Anesthesia Outreach
- Must complete and pass a qualifying examination/certification as CRNA within one (1) year of hire
- BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network
- ACLS and PALS certifications upon hire
- N/A
- Knowledgeable in anesthesia machines and equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
The CRNA will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects.
The work environment will include occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and laser vision/vision screening.
