Position Summary:
The Ophthalmic Surgery Consultant plays a vital role in guiding patients through their surgical options and coordinating surgical procedures at our facilities. This position serves as a key liaison among patients, surgeons, and surgical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to all patients
- Maintain a thorough understanding of surgical procedures
- Engage with patients to discuss treatment alternatives
- Coordinate scheduling for pre-operative and post-operative appointments
- Review insurance requirements and surgical consent forms
- Assist patients with transportation and financial inquiries
- Facilitate health clearances from primary care physicians and specialists
- Communicate medication instructions to patients before and after surgery
- Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality regulations
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively and present a professional appearance
- Exhibit a friendly, empathetic demeanor to foster trust with patients and medical staff
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to convey treatment options clearly
- Demonstrate reliability and a positive attitude
- Maintain patient confidentiality and integrity in all interactions
- Work independently with minimal supervision
