The Substation Construction Specialist will oversee field operations for construction projects, supporting project management across various service areas, focusing on substation projects and reporting to the appropriate authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clear experience with substation construction, including project planning, execution, and completion.
- Prepare specifications, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and conduct job site visits to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Review proposals, recommend contract awards, and manage project documentation, including change orders and payment requests.
- Process change orders and payment requests, track project progress, and create schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with agencies, utilities, and other teams to manage line outages and project interfaces, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Supervise inspectors, material personnel, and safety staff, ensuring environmental and safety compliance, and develop and implement construction management plans, staffing, and budget forecasts.
- Ensure all construction work complies with Project Labor Agreements, and plan long-term construction projects, responsible for cost, schedule, quality, safety, and systems integrity.
- Manage multiple large projects with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines, communicating clearly and effectively with various stakeholders.
