Job Title:

Principal Electrical Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of product development, design, troubleshooting, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking, analytical problem-solving skills, and a desire to contribute real-world solutions in a fast-paced start-up environment working with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities:
  • Offer expertise in electrical engineering to conceive, create, analyze, and troubleshoot novel product designs, encompassing both analog and digital circuitry.
  • Design various device-to-device interfaces as required (e.g. I2C, SPI, LVDS, Fiber Optics).
  • Provide support for developing testing environments for characterization, verification & validation, and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers and industrial design consultants to design usability, manufacturability, and serviceability into future commercial designs.
  • Sustain and revise documentation of requirements and design (schematic, layout, assembly files) throughout the entire lifecycle of the system.
  • Participate in onsite manufacturing or onsite repair of electronic medical equipment used for diagnostic or treatment purposes.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of recent experience in electrical engineering and a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in an engineering discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in PCB design methodology including CAD tools (Altium Designer preferred).
  • Experience with design, verification, and validation of Class III medical devices or similar regulated products.
  • C/C++, LabVIEW, and/or Python scripting. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, simulate, and resolve issues in embedded system designs.
Location:

Onsite (Irvine, CA)

Salary Range:

The salary for this position is between $155,000 - $170,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skill, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
