Job Title: Patient Escort

We are seeking a skilled Patient Escort to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a Patient Escort, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of patients within our hospital network.

Job Summary:

The Patient Escort is responsible for transporting patients in wheelchairs and stretchers from admission to discharge. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently within the hospital network
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
  • Maintain patient transport equipment in a safe and clean manner
  • Report any equipment problems or concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • AHA BLS certification (preferred)
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including overnights and weekends
