Job Summary

As a Radiology Imaging Specialist at Prisma Health, you will operate radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by care providers. Your expertise will be essential in performing routine diagnostic procedures, ensuring the highest quality images for accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures and provide clear guidance.
  • Examine radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Develop and process radiologic film, delivering it to requesters for reading and interpretation.
  • Maintain the x-ray exam room, stocking necessary medical and radiological supplies.
  • Clean and make minor adjustments to radiologic equipment, ensuring routine maintenance and vendor notification of failures.
  • Responsible for disseminating x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log.
  • Schedule radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary.
  • Gather and prepare x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over-read.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

An Associate's Degree: Completion of an accredited radiology program is required.

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

  • SCRQSA license RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD
  • American Registry for Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification for Radiology
  • New graduates must obtain and submit a Permanent SCRQSA license within 30 days of passing ARRT registry. May work with a temporary B SCRQSA license for 30 days.

In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements

  • In lieu of the accredited radiology program, completion of the diploma program through AnMed Health is acceptable. Additionally, any education considered grandfathered by the American Registry for Radiology Technologists is also acceptable.
  • Team members in this job as of 11/08/2020 are grandfathered from the education and experience requirements listed above, pending state and regulatory requirements.
