We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our behavioral health division, you will be responsible for providing advocacy, linkage, and referral services to individuals with chronic mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide intake, screening, referral, and case management services to clients.
- Assist in maintaining an active liaison with community agencies serving the high-risk population.
- Maintain clinical records in accordance with ODMHSAS, OHCA, CARF, and CREOKS rules and regulations.
- Attend and present cases in treatment team meetings.
- Coordinate and manage indigent medication/patient assistance programs.
- Turn in billing and associated documentation as mandated by CREOKS policy.
- Responsible for understanding and following all administrative, clinical, and programmatic policies and procedures.
- Provide Psychiatric Social Rehabilitation Services to agency clients.
- Responsible for attending and presenting cases in treatment team staffing conferences.
- Responsible for maintaining a full-time caseload and meeting daily productivity averages.
- Responsible for billing documentation and clinical documentation on a daily basis.
- Responsible for necessary interaction with agency client families and/or other agencies involved with clients.
- Participate in mandatory trainings such as CAPE and CPR.
- Implement rehabilitative curriculum and develop support materials based on best practices and evidence-based treatment models.
- Teach rehabilitative skills focusing on activities of daily living and successful integration into community life.
- Treat all types of clients within the community based on level of staff competency.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 36 months of behavioral health experience or 60 college credit hours in any field and 12 months of behavioral health experience.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in any field with 6 months of behavioral health experience.
- Maintain current case management certification.
- Basic understanding of social and cultural factors influencing human behavior.
- Knowledge of various treatment modalities.
- Capability to work as part of a team.
- Core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders.
- Case Management certification.
