Program Overview

Woodfords Family Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with special needs and their families in Maine communities. Our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Program provides treatment-level foster care to children 3-21 years with developmental and/or emotional disabilities who cannot reside with their biological family.

Job Summary

The Foster Family Support Worker will provide one-on-one support to foster children in their foster home and community, focusing on daily living, social interaction, behavior management, and communication skills. This role involves strong applied therapeutic interventions and promoting positive relationships with the treatment team and foster families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the family unit by providing individualized support to foster children
  • Develop and implement daily living, social interaction, behavior management, and communication skills
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to promote positive relationships and outcomes
  • Provide strong applied therapeutic interventions to support foster children's needs

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and relevant life experience
  • Must possess at least six months of experience working with children and/or families
  • Must have a valid State of Maine driver's license and a properly insured/dependable vehicle

What We Offer

Woodfords Family Services offers a competitive hourly rate of $18.00 and a $375 sign-on bonus paid at six months of employment. We are committed to supporting our employees in their professional development and providing a positive work environment.
