Position Overview

The Senior Therapeutic Area Medical Science Liaison plays a crucial role in providing clinical and health economic information related to disease states and Genentech medicines. As a credible scientific partner, this field-based position engages with healthcare providers, population health decision makers, and patients within the West Region to further patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure end-to-end customer experience for therapeutic area specific customers
  • Develop deep scientific expertise in assigned molecules/products and therapeutic areas
  • Build relationships with key external scientific and medical customers to understand evolving healthcare trends
  • Participate in continuous learning within the therapeutic area, adhering to guidelines and procedures

This role requires significant use of a company-provided car to perform essential duties and responsibilities. The successful candidate will establish relationships with key external stakeholders, collaborate with internal partners, and share insights to inform and shape the global and local medical strategy.

Responsibilities Continued
  • Identify and support recruitment of high-impact clinical research sites for Phase II and III programs
  • Develop and facilitate relationships with external stakeholders to ensure Genentech is the preferred partner
  • Engage and educate Investigators and site staff to enable successful delivery of clinical development programs
  • Provide real-time insights and understanding of the disease area landscape

The ideal candidate will have an advanced clinical/science degree, minimum 5 years related work experience, and prior experience as a field medical science liaison. Relevant therapeutic area knowledge, comprehensive understanding of product and safety profiles, and familiarity with managed care, health economics, reimbursement, and legal and regulatory landscape are essential requirements.
