Job Title: Americas Logistics Inventory Control Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager to join our Americas Logistics team at Apple. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and controlling Inventory Control activities to maintain the highest standards of inventory accuracy and efficiency for our distribution network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the performance of Apple and its third-party logistics vendors (3PLs) against standards, documented process controls, inventory control, reverse logistics (RMA), in-transit inventory management, and implementation of new business processes.
  • Build relationships and influence key decisions to improve third-party logistics partners (3PLs) KPIs and how they achieve them.
  • Identify opportunities to gain the highest level of performance from team members.
  • Monitor 3PL KPIs, maintain effective action plans for underperformance, and partner internally and externally to resolve inventory issues.
  • Bridge Finished Goods, Retail, and AppleCare 3PLs to shared common goals and KPIs while simplifying the support across DC Ops.
  • Oversee a group of vendors, 3PLs, distribution centers, and/or programs; $100-200M annual spend, 2-6 3PL providers.
  • Recruit, retain, and mentor development of individual contributors (above) as direct reports. Team size: 5-8.
  • Compare inventory between Apple ERP system and 3PL WMS to ensure systems match at all times, identify discrepancies and assign root causes, partner with appropriate teams to resolve, and develop solutions to prevent future discrepancies.
  • Monitor EDI failures, assign root causes, and leverage management systems to track system solutions to reduce failure instances.
  • Review adjustment requests and associated root causes/corrective actions to minimize future adjustments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, analytics, logistics, or related field.
  • 7+ years experience in inventory control and/or logistics.
  • 5+ years experience managing and evaluating teams and/or individuals to achieve business and individual goals.
  • Solid understanding of processes relating to shipping, receiving, carrier exceptions, inventory control, reverse logistics, and financial accounting practices.
  • Must be systems literate in both Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience in a customer-facing supplier role or supplier management experience.
  • Must be willing to travel anywhere in the Americas region as required in support of operational functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience leading and evaluating teams and/or individuals to achieve business and individual goals.
  • Critical-thinking skills to establish action plans and routinely assess their effectiveness.
  • Advanced SAP Experience.
  • Advanced use of Keynote to present and tell a story with data.
  • Problem-solving skills to anticipate problems before they happen and handle them appropriately when they do.
  • Intrinsic initiative to consistently drive for process improvements.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail & follow-up.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with various stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Desire to travel and impact function on a Worldwide (WW) scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain influence and drive action with broad scope of internal and external partners and leadership.
  • Experience working with large data sets in a timely fashion.
  • Effective use of Keynote to present and tell a story with data.
  • High level Excel & quantitative analysis skills including pivot tables, v & h-lookup, query writing, and ad-hoc reporting skills required.
