Senior Communications Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Manager to lead our public and media relations efforts for business continuity programs, including disaster preparation and response, severe weather events, and network continuity.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement proactive and reactive communication plans to secure earned media coverage and build positive perceptions towards T-Mobile.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including communications, emergency management, network, and business continuity, to align on priorities and craft communication strategies.
- Coordinate with social media, marketing, internal comms, and technology teams to leverage a broad range of communication channels.
- Proactively identify and leverage trends and newsjack what's coming; modify narratives as needed.
- Develop and maintain regional and national media relationships and with various segment audiences.
- Pitch and land coverage.
- Manage crisis communication, including monitoring, strategizing responses, and conducting post-event analysis.
- Make recommendations for issues (short and long term) that put T-Mobile in the best light aligning to both business and communication priorities.
- Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in communications, social, leading and implementing proactive and reactive/issues communications and external communications strategy.
- Strong media relationships and experience.
- Understanding of consumer technology and wireless technologies (or a very fast learner).
- Disaster response, weather, network, or business continuity experience a plus.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with a knack for storytelling.
- Ability to synthesize complex issues.
- Ability to work on-call and off normal hours when needed and on rotating schedule.
- Thrive in a fast-paced culture of change and innovation; be able to think on your feet and shift on a dime.
- Ability to work independently but knows when to bring relevant and timely updates to the forefront at the right time.
- A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude with a bias towards action; a self-starter who takes initiative rather than waiting for direction.
- Positive interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking, upbeat attitude, high integrity, persistence, and personal initiative.
