Position Overview:
The Senior Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for orchestrating and executing educational initiatives that enhance the skills and professional growth of nursing personnel within Sutter Health. This role involves assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing education programs tailored to meet healthcare demands, emerging trends, identified learning needs, departmental objectives, quality improvement initiatives, risk management strategies, regulatory updates, and compliance standards.
The educator will design educational offerings, including courses, simulations, and programs, utilizing methodologies that reflect the principles of adult learning and diverse learning styles. Responsibilities include directing nursing orientation education, conducting competency evaluations, facilitating ongoing professional development, and establishing courses and programs based on annual educational assessments and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver educational activities that validate, develop, and enhance the competencies of nursing staff.
- Maintain comprehensive educational and competency records in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize a broad knowledge of clinical nursing practices, safety protocols, and electronic healthcare record management.
- Implement adult learning theories and program evaluation processes in educational design.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Ensure the confidentiality of patient information in compliance with privacy regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure:
Registered Nurse (RN) in California or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)
BLS, ACLS, PALS, CNOR, or NRP certifications as applicable.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience.
Skills:
Extensive knowledge of clinical nursing, current healthcare trends, and regulatory standards.
Proficient in educational program design and implementation, with strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, Days, Monday - Friday
