The base hourly compensation for this role is $19.93.

At our Insulation Systems facility, we are seeking a General Operator who thrives in a collaborative team setting. The General Operator operates under the guidance of the shift supervisor, managing the bagging machinery to optimize output while upholding safety and quality standards. Our facility is dedicated to producing high volumes of premium blown wool insulation for various clients.

This role involves working 8-hour shifts, following a schedule of 7 days on, 2 days off, 7 days on, 2 days off, and 7 days on, culminating in a 3-day weekend. Starting pay is $19.93/hr, with an additional shift differential of $0.50 to $0.75/hr for hours worked between 3 PM and 7 AM.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Promote and adhere to safe work practices; promptly report hazardous conditions; maintain security protocols; and wear protective gear as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment as required, ensuring a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Monitor equipment for proper functioning and take corrective measures when issues arise.
  • Assist with maintenance tasks, including cleaning ducts, chains, fans, and other equipment during downtimes.
  • Operate fork/clamp trucks as needed and assist with propane tank filling.
  • Perform hand taping and stacking when automated equipment is offline.
  • Manage bag house maintenance by changing dust bags as necessary.
  • Execute painting tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Load empty drums and scrap materials into designated containers.
  • Operate push sweepers and clean side chambers on bagging equipment.
  • Use manual stretch wrapper equipment as required.
  • Train less experienced team members as needed.
  • Carry out janitorial duties and general facility upkeep.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues during breaks and lunch periods.
  • Perform blending and refeeding duties as instructed.
  • Conduct recycling tasks in accordance with guidelines.
  • Sort and fill bags on the bagging unit.
  • Assist with unblocking baggers when necessary.
  • Ensure units are stocked with full boxes of bags.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Proficient in reading and understanding written instructions
