Position Overview - Banquet Server

Reporting To: General Manager, Management Team

Role Summary:
The Banquet Server plays a crucial role in orchestrating banquet events, which includes setting up venues, serving guests, and assisting with post-event cleanup to ensure client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and dismantle food and beverage stations for catered events.
  • Prepare food for daily operations and scheduled events.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests, vendors, and event hosts.
  • Assist in event logistics, including table arrangements, place settings, and waste management.
  • Support event cleanup efforts, ensuring all items such as plates, utensils, glassware, linens, and trash are properly handled.
  • Help transport catering items back to the kitchen.
  • Print labels and signage for buffet displays.
  • Stay informed about upcoming catering events and orders.
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance in uniform.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and management to accommodate last-minute requests.
  • Collaborate with the Catering Director and culinary team as needed.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is essential due to the nature of the business.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to accurately process food and beverage orders.
  • Proficient in operating point-of-sale systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum age of sixteen years (must be at least 21 to serve alcoholic beverages).
  • Prior experience in a serving role is preferred.
  • Completion of a restaurant training program is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
