The Lead Maintenance Technician position is a critical role within SlingShot Connections - Direct Hire, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production and facility equipment. Key Responsibilities- Maintain production equipment in optimal operating condition, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, utilizing troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with Store Managers and Maintenance Manager to resolve breakdown issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Perform preventive maintenance duties, including scheduling and executing routine maintenance tasks.
- Conduct other maintenance tasks, such as rebuilding pumps and performing light electrical work.
- Successfully complete confined space training and work safely in confined spaces.
- Report to Maintenance Foreman any shortages of parts or special needs.
- Support the plant's focus on adhering to all Personnel and Food Safety, SQF, HACCP, Quality, AIB, and GMP regulations and policies.
- Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels, both union and management.
- 3-5 years of direct experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing union environment, preferably in the food industry.
- 3 years of HVAC/R (HVAC and Refrigeration) experience.
- Able to perform various types of welding, including TIG, MIG, arc, and gas.
- Solid understanding of electronics, electrical systems, and mechanical applications, with experience in refrigeration a plus.
- Excellent mechanical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical problems, as well as piping and plumbing issues.
- Ability to show initiative and judgment in analyzing, planning, and laying out work for the installation of new and used equipment, as well as performing maintenance on the plant facility.
- Proficient with hand tools and shop equipment, such as drill presses, grinders, pipe threaders, drain pipe cleaning, and welding equipment.
- May be required to work on hydraulic/pneumatic systems, heating and refrigeration systems, and control systems.
- May be required to oversee the work of lower-level rate mechanics and work with and direct contractors.
- Carpentry experience preferred.
- Refrigeration experience preferred.
- Electrical experience preferred.
