RT Clinical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Recreational Therapist to fill the role of RT Clinical Specialist at Vidant Health. This is a full-time position that requires 10+ years of licensure experience and advanced knowledge of RT interventions for patient populations. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating individualized Recreational Therapy services, supervising interns and students, and providing education to non-RT staff and other disciplines.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a BS/BA or MS in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreational Therapy, State of North Carolina Recreational Therapy licensure (LRT), and certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS). Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this role. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery and collaborate with other departments to improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate individualized Recreational Therapy services for patients with physical, social, emotional, and/or cognitive impairments
- Supervise and mentor RT staff, interns, and students
- Provide education to non-RT staff and other disciplines on RT interventions and patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports on patient progress
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery
