Job SummaryWe're seeking a Radiation Oncology Physicist to join our team, providing radiation physics support for cancer treatment and other diseases requiring radiation therapy. This role involves performing clinical radiation oncology physicist and dosimetry duties, developing quality control policies and procedures, and maintaining records on routine calibrations and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in patient treatment planning and review performance improvement records.
- Assist with special procedures, including radioactive implants, stereotactic radiosurgery, and stereotactic body radiation therapy.
- Verify patient dose by performing electronic and paper chart QA checks.
- Participate in QA programs for radiation-producing machines and assist with equipment maintenance and repair.
To succeed in this role, you'll need a Master's degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Physics, or a related field. A Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a related field is preferred.
Experience in clinical medical physics, with documented experience in a clinical CT environment, is required. Board eligibility in therapeutic radiological physics by the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Medical Physics is also required.

Physical and Environmental DemandsThis role requires heavy work, exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly. You'll need to be able to travel throughout and between facilities and work in a patient care area, which may involve exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
