Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of English Composition to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English Composition courses and contributing to the academic excellence of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English Composition courses to students at various levels of proficiency
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote student learning and achievement
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
  • Masters degree in English or a related field with 18 graduate hours in English Composition or comparable graduate courses
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching English Composition and related courses
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Flexibility to teach day, evening, weekend, and online courses as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching English Composition courses at the community college level
  • Knowledge of competency-based instructional systems
  • Ability to use learning management systems and other educational technologies

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced academic environment and to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and to adapt to changing circumstances as needed.
