Position Overview
- The Senior Vice President of Marine Engineering oversees both shoreside and marine engineering operations, which encompass comprehensive fleet management, the construction of new vessels, and significant repairs for all vessels under G&H Towing's ownership, charter, and operation.
- This role also entails responsibility for all major shoreside capital expenditure projects.
- Collaboration with the VP of Human Resources is essential to identify and cultivate training needs for all engineering staff.
- Key responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating fleet maintenance and repairs, managing the procurement of parts, repair services, and supplies.
- The Senior VP will also oversee process enhancement, routine maintenance, vessel inspections for repairs, and the enforcement of maintenance standards.
- Maintaining fleet compliance with regulatory bodies and ensuring accurate documentation of maintenance activities on vessels is a critical function.
- Additionally, the Senior VP will formulate and implement annual maintenance budgets, manage engineering projects, oversee budget allocations, marine hull claims, and support personnel.
- Effective collaboration with various departments, including Operations, Safety (HSSQE), Information Technology, Accounting, Training and Development, Human Resources, and Purchasing and Logistics, will be crucial for success in this role.
