We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist II to join our team at the Rex Surgery Center of Cary. As a key member of our operating room team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities- Establish and maintain a sterile field, ensuring the team maintains a clean and safe environment.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of sterile technique and instrumentation, with a focus on multispecialty cases.
- Prepare the operating room with the necessary equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.
- Perform accurate and safe sponge, needle, and instrument counts, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Maintain technical skills to serve a diverse patient population, from infancy to geriatrics.
- Adhere to standards, including ASC policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety goals.
- Assume responsibility for self and reinforce policies, procedures, and safety practices in the operating room and ASC.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and apply advanced knowledge of instrumentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, staff members, and physicians.
- High School Diploma or GED, or graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing program.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of OR experience, with a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to function effectively as a mentor and team player.
