Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at LifeWorks Schools in Levittown, PA. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic and functional instruction to students with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder
  • Monitor student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods
  • Develop and monitor student's IEP, reports, goals, objectives, and attend IEP meetings
  • Manage student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program, and positive behavior support plans
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's level degree in Special Education required
  • PA certification in Special Education is also required
  • Content area certifications preferred
  • Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting preferred
